Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology & Research is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
SCIT has been recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, dated 23rd January 2014, by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Now, the college is under the head "Non-Government Self-Financed" colleges teaching up to the Master's degree, making it eligible to receive central assistance. The college would also be eligible to get grants for all UGC schemes related to teachers and students.
Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology & Research is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH), Hyderabad.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has awarded Autonomous Status under the UGC autonomous colleges scheme to SCIT, Khammam, for a period of five years starting from the academic year 2024-2025 to 2028-2029.
All the 7 UG Courses – CSE, CSE (AI&ML), CSE (Data Science), ECE, EEE, Mechanical, and Civil – and 7 PG Courses – MBA & MCA – are under Autonomous Status.
The institution has been accredited in the 1st cycle by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for a period of five years, starting from January 10, 2027.
