About Alumni

The Alumni of the institution form a strong and integral part of its academic ecosystem. Our alumni are ambassadors of the institution's values, ethics, and academic excellence, contributing significantly to society in diverse professional domains such as industry, academia, research, entrepreneurship, public service, and higher education.

The institution maintains an active SCIT-Alumni Association to foster lifelong relationships between alumni, students, and the institution. The association serves as a platform for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and contribute to its growth and development.

Role and Contributions of Alumni

Formation of Alumni Association

Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT), Khammam, has formally constituted an Alumni Association to strengthen the bond between the institution and its former students and to promote their active involvement in the academic and developmental activities of the institute.

The Alumni Association was formed with the objective of creating a structured platform for alumni to interact with students, faculty, and the management, thereby contributing to institutional growth and quality enhancement. The association is governed by a duly approved Alumni Constitution, with an executive committee comprising a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Members.

The Alumni Association of SCIT plays a significant role in:

  • Mentoring and guiding students in academic and career development
  • Supporting internships, placements, and industry exposure
  • Participating in guest lectures, workshops, seminars, and alumni talks
  • Providing feedback for curriculum enrichment and academic improvement
  • Supporting institutional initiatives through financial and non-financial contributions
  • Promoting networking, professional ethics, and lifelong association with the institution

Regular Alumni Meets, interactive sessions, expert talks, and networking events are organized to ensure continuous engagement and collaboration. The institution encourages alumni participation in quality assurance processes as per NAAC guidelines, recognizing alumni as key stakeholders.

The formation of the Alumni Association at SCIT reflects the institution’s commitment to inclusive governance, stakeholder participation, and sustainable institutional development.

CONSTITUTION - SCIT Alumni Association

1. Name of the Association

The Association shall be called "SCIT Alumni Association of Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT), Khammam", hereinafter referred to as the "Association".

2. Address

The registered office of the Association shall be at:
Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT),
Khammam, Telangana.

3. Vision

To build a strong and lifelong relationship between alumni and the institution, fostering mutual growth, professional excellence, and societal contribution.

4. Mission

  • To engage alumni in the academic, professional, and developmental activities of SCIT
  • To support students through mentoring, guidance, and career opportunities
  • To contribute to institutional growth and quality enhancement in line with NAAC guidelines

5. Objectives

The objectives of the Alumni Association are to:

  • Strengthen alumni–institution relationships
  • Provide career guidance, mentoring, and motivation to students
  • Facilitate internships, placements, and industry interaction
  • Support curriculum enrichment and academic development
  • Encourage alumni participation in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship
  • Mobilize alumni support for scholarships, infrastructure, and institutional development
  • Promote professional ethics, social responsibility, and lifelong association

6. Membership

Eligibility:

All students who have successfully completed a course from SCIT are eligible to become members.

Types of Membership:

  • Life Member: All registered alumni
  • Honorary Member: Eminent alumni or individuals nominated by the Executive Committee

Membership shall be voluntary and free unless otherwise decided by the Association.

7. Governing Body / Executive Committee

The Association shall be managed by an Executive Committee, consisting of:

The tenure of the Executive Committee shall be two years.

8. Roles and Responsibilities

  • President: Overall supervision and leadership
  • Secretary: Administration, correspondence, and records
  • Treasurer: Financial management and accounts
  • Faculty Coordinator: Liaison between alumni and institution

9. Meetings

  • General Body Meeting: At least once a year
  • Executive Committee Meeting: As required
  • Decisions shall be made by majority vote

10. Funds and Finance

  • Funds may be generated through voluntary contributions, donations, and grants
  • All funds shall be utilized solely for achieving the objectives of the Association
  • Accounts shall be maintained transparently and audited periodically

11. Activities

The Association shall organize:

  • Alumni Meets and Reunions
  • Guest Lectures and Expert Talks
  • Mentoring and Career Guidance Programs
  • Industry–Institute Interaction Activities
  • Social Outreach and Institutional Support Programs

12. Amendment of the Constitution

Any amendment to this Constitution shall be made with the approval of the General Body by a majority vote and with the consent of the institution.

13. Dissolution

In the event of dissolution, the assets of the Association shall be transferred to Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT), Khammam, and shall not be distributed among members.

14. Adoption

This Constitution was adopted by the General Body of the Alumni Association of Sri Chaitanya Institute of Technology and Research (SCIT), Khammam.
